The public is invited to the Aquarium to explore new programming, events, and special contests starting May 26 through December 31, 2023

The Aquarium of the Pacific will host its twenty-first annual African American Festival, which features music, dance, storytelling, historical displays, and the annual Heritage Award presentation.

This event celebrates indigenous maritime cultures in California and includes traditional music, dance, storytelling, and cultural craft demonstrations.

Aquarium’s festival celebrates cultures from México, Central and South America, and beyond and takes place during National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Join nature educator and beekeeper Emilie Usher as she invites us to learn more about the world inside the honeybee hive, the lives of the other important pollinators who support our food system and the role urban beekeeping can play in raising awareness.

The program supports African American students pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields related to the work of the Aquarium.

Samantha Attwood and Art Levitt have officially joined the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Board of Directors. Attwood is the worldwide head of Amazon’s Devices Technology Licensing Business Development Team and contributes to new sustainability and energy initiatives across Amazon. Levitt has headed businesses in the media, hospitality, and entertainment.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is announcing the arrival of a new rescued sea otter pup, who was found stranded without its mother in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, on April 12, 2022. Sea otter experts estimated the young male pup to be three weeks old when it was found.

The Aquarium of the Pacific has partnered with Orange Coast College (OCC) to offer a college-level course for thirty high school and college students during the fall 2022 semester. The course, Ocean Conservation and Community Science, will focus on ocean conservation and the roles that aquariums can play in public education, research, and behavior changes.

Kids can dive into ocean learning through dance and movement, learn about whales and fish, and explore ocean habitats during the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Summer Kids Club.
