In celebration of the Aquarium of the Pacific’s 20th anniversary, the Long Beach Chorale will perform a summer evening concert on Sunday, June 10, 2018, amongst the fish. The chorale will perform folk songs and new compositions from around the world in a concert titled Ports of Call. Program selections will include music from Scotland, Australia, China, and other places. Led by Assistant Director Matthew Martinez, the Long Beach Chorale will perform in the Aquarium’s Great Hall in front of the three-story Honda Blue Cavern exhibit.

The concert is part of the Aquarium’s ongoing efforts to feature the visual and performing arts as a way for the public to connect with the ocean. The Long Beach Chorale also has a connection to the Aquarium’s 20th Anniversary celebration, as the group performed at the Aquarium’s grand opening celebration in 1998 with founding director Mark Barville. Under Artistic Director Eliza Rubenstein, who has led the chorale since 2003, Long Beach’s only all-volunteer community masterworks chorus performed at Carnegie Hall in 2017 and will return there in 2019.

When: Sunday, June 10, 2018, 7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (Doors open at 7:00 p.m.)

Cost: $30 per adult, $18 per student with ID and child (Aquarium member discounts available). Refreshments will be available for purchase.
