Aquarium Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Special Summer Contests

Everyone is invited to join the Aquarium in celebrating its twentieth year with special events, programs, and exhibits. Starting May 25 Aquarium visitors can participate in summer contests, scavenger hunts, and challenges to win prizes. The public can follow the Aquarium on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get word of more surprises throughout the summer. Visit aquariumofpacific.org for full details and rules.

Where’s Bob the Diver?
In honor of its 20th anniversary celebration and all its dive volunteers, the Aquarium will place a platinum sculpture of Bob the Diver in a different exhibit each day. The first three people who find Bob each day, post it on Instagram, and show their post to the staff at the Aquarium Information Desk will receive a limited-edition 20th anniversary prize, along with two VIP Access tickets to the Pacific Visions wing opening in 2019.

Also in celebration of its anniversary, the Aquarium has created a series of special 20th Anniversary Selfie Spots throughout its facility. You can take a photo and post it on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #AOPandme to be entered to win one of three prizes 1) VIP Experience 2) Animal Encounter 3) Behind-the-Scenes Tour.

What’s the 20th Anniversary Code Word?
Each Saturday morning on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, the Aquarium will issue an anniversary-related code word with a photo of a special button. Find the staff member that day with the button, and the first ten people who say the right word to him or her will receive two tickets to return to the Aquarium.

20th Anniversary Art Contest
Send the Aquarium your 20th Anniversary-inspired art for the chance to have it exhibited at the Aquarium. The art contest, presented by JetBlue, will be accepting entries throughout the summer with the top twenty participants winning roundtrip flights on JetBlue. The twenty winning artworks will be exhibited at the Aquarium of the Pacific at the end of 2018.

#Act4Ocean 20th Anniversary Challenge
You can help the Aquarium protect and conserve our ocean planet in honor of its 20th anniversary. The public is invited to take on one of twenty personal and community challenges and post it with the hashtag #Act4Ocean. Each month in June, July, and August, twenty winners will be chosen to win tickets to the Aquarium.

Visitor Guide Scavenger Hunt
You can collect all eight 20th Anniversary embossers in the Aquarium’s Visitor Guide and present it at the Information Desk to receive a special gift courtesy of Southern California Honda.
