Aquarium Debuts National Geographic Photographer’s Exhibit on Aquaculture
A photography exhibit by National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry will be on display at the Aquarium from October 8 through December 8, 2018. It features photographs of aquaculture or seafood farming practices from around the world.

Two New Eagle Rays Added to Tropical Reef
Two eagle rays, one female and one male, are now on exhibit in the Tropical Reef. They can be identified by their protruding, tapered snout and dark brown back with white spots.

A green sea turtle rescued with a fishing hook in its throat in Morro Bay was treated and released back into the ocean in September.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Aquarium held an art contest presented by JetBlue throughout the summer of 2018. The top twenty entrants were selected to win a round-trip flight on JetBlue.

New Website Will Track Giant Sea Bass
The Aquarium partnered with scientists at the University of California, Santa Barbara, to launch a new website that will use divers’ and snorkelers’ photos of giant sea bass to help track these endangered fish.
