Aquarium Releases Report Detailing Communication Strategies for U.S. Aquaculture
The Aquarium of the Pacific’s Seafood for the Future program has released a report on a forum it convened with American Honda, in partnership with the Honda Marine Science Foundation, titled: Aligning Stakeholder Communications for U.S. Marine Aquaculture at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Aquarium Joins 1 Million Cards Campaign to Help Save the Vaquita Porpoise from Extinction
The campaign encourages Mexico’s incoming president to continue conservation initiatives to save the vaquita, which is found only in the Upper Gulf of California in Baja.

The Aquarium in 2018
In 2018 the Aquarium celebrated its 20th Anniversary, completed milestones in the construction of Pacific Visions, hosted forums on aquaculture and climate change and Aquatic Academy courses, and conducted important conservation work.

Aquarium Displays Paintings of Marine Life by Truong Buu Giam
Giam uses traditional Vietnamese watercolor techniques to blend liquid resin and acrylic paint in his underwater scenes of marine life.

Final Glass Panel Installed on Pacific Visions Façade

New Video Series Highlights Sustainable Farmed Seafood

Aquarium Debuts National Geographic Photographer’s Exhibit on Aquaculture
A photography exhibit by National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry will be on display at the Aquarium from October 8 through December 8, 2018. It features photographs of aquaculture or seafood farming practices from around the world.

The Aquarium has welcomed a new four-year-old male sea lion, Chase, to the Seals and Sea Lions Habitat.

Two New Eagle Rays Added to Tropical Reef
Two eagle rays, one female and one male, are now on exhibit in the Tropical Reef. They can be identified by their protruding, tapered snout and dark brown back with white spots.

Aquarium Releases Wild Sea Turtle After Surgery
A green sea turtle rescued with a fishing hook in its throat in Morro Bay was treated and released back into the ocean in September.
