As part of California’s annual Coastal Clean-Up Day, the Aquarium hosted a beach clean-up on the Long Beach Peninsula on September 21, 2019.

Looking for gift ideas that also help the ocean? The nonprofit Aquarium of the Pacific has many unique options to choose from, and dollars spent with the Aquarium support its animal care, conservation, and education programs.

On November 2, the Aquarium hosted U.S. Congressional Representatives Alan Lowenthal of California and Garret Graves of Louisiana for a meeting and tour of the new Pacific Visions wing. The visit was part of the American Congressional Exchange initiated by the Bipartisan Policy Center.

The Aquarium is a founding partner of the White Abalone Recovery Program and has been working with NOAA for the past eleven years on this project.

For her One Artist Five Oceans project, Danielle Eubank has sailed and painted all of the oceans on the planet. Her artwork will be on view at the Aquarium November 5 to January 5.

The Aquarium will host special guest animals from wildlife rescue and outreach organization Conservation Ambassadors with meet-and-greet opportunities and shows.

Through its Seafood for the Future program, the Aquarium will participate in a two-year research project to assess how changing policies and fisheries conditions in the United States may have supported or hindered development of this industry.

Dr. Schubel joined the Aquarium in 2002. He will remain in his current role while the Aquarium’s Board of Directors conducts a search for his replacement.

This fall at the Aquarium, see new animals, enjoy seasonal festivals and special events, and experience Pacific Visions.

Contributions to the Field Trip Face Campaign August 20 to 28 will be matched by a $5,000 grant from the Whitney Young Children’s Foundation, $5,000 from the Schulzman-Neri Foundation, and a $1,000 matching grant from the Mike and Diane Jensen Family.

The Aquarium will display an exhibit of ocean-themed artwork by painter John Enright from August 19 through October 30.

Visitors can see animal ambassadors up close in four sessions held daily between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Aquarium offers fun for the whole family, including animals you can touch, whale watching cruises, daily shows with our animal care experts, convenient parking, and its new Pacific Visions wing featuring an immersive theater show.

In December 2018 the Aquarium partnered with the Phoenix Island Protected Area Trust and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution to host a workshop on super corals with coral experts from around the world.
