Lincoln Paine recorded this Aquacast at the Aquarium on September 24, 2014. He discussed humankind’s relationship to the ocean throughout history and his book, The Sea and Civilization: A Maritime History of the World.

Paine is the author of Down East: A Maritime History of Maine and Ships of the World: An Historical Encyclopedia. He serves on the boards of the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath and of The Telling Room, a non-profit writing center for children and young adults in Portland, Maine.
