Lecture date: September 19, 2014. Author Craig MacDonald shared the story of Jessie Benton Fremont, who helped lead the first successful effort to protect Yosemite Valley as national park land 150 years ago.

MacDonald, a Pulitzer Prize nominee, is the author of eighteen books about the West, and his work has been published in Sierra Heritage magazine.
