In this episode, we talk with Peter Kareiva, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and one of the world’s leading ecologists.

Kareiva challenges some of our long-held beliefs about conservation and the fragility of nature and will offer suggestions on how to make aquariums more effective conservation organizations in the Anthropocene, an informal term for the age in which human activity has impacted Earth’s ecosystems.

Aquarium President and CEO Jerry Schubel moderates the conversation.

Original broadcast date: April 23, 2014.
