State of the California South Coast: Findings from Baseline Monitoring of Marine Protected Areas

California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Ocean Protection Council, and Ocean Science Trust invite you to learn about key findings from marine protected area (MPA) baseline monitoring. Information from the State of the California South Coast report will be shared, including how initial findings may contribute to long-term monitoring and inform adaptive management of the statewide network of MPAs.

As part of the presentation, researchers from Marine Applied Research and Exploration (MARE) and the University of California, Santa Barbara will take the audience on a journey to explore California’s diverse ecosystems, from kelp forests out to deep water habitats.
