We are Setting the Standard in Animal Well-Being and Welfare
The Aquarium of the Pacific and its staff are deeply committed to leading the way in setting new standards in compassionate animal care.
The Aquarium is aiding in the recovery of critically endangered mountain yellow-legged frogs.
Starting in 2021 the Aquarium of the Pacific joined efforts with local zoos and government agencies to help save mountain yellow-legged frogs (Rana muscosa), a critically endangered amphibian native to California’s mountain regions. Partners include the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), and the LA Zoo. The Aquarium serves as a nursery to care for and raise the mountain yellow-legged tadpoles into froglets and frogs until they are ready for release. Due to our efforts, hundreds of these frogs have been released back to their native range.
The Aquarium of the Pacific and its staff are deeply committed to leading the way in setting new standards in compassionate animal care.
Join us, as your support of our conservation and education programs will help the Aquarium of the Pacific empower and inspire young ocean stewards and positively transform our oceans for generations to come.
