SECORE (SExual COral REproduction) International is a research organization that the Aquarium has partnered with since 2014 to further coral reproduction and restoration efforts. Aquarium staff members have assisted with coral conservation over the years in Guam, Saipan, Curacao, the Bahamas, and Palau. SECORE is a non-profit organization that specializes in developing technology and techniques for large scale coral-reef restoration.

Coral reefs have declined as a result of rising sea temperatures. These reefs support and protect many coastlines and islands, where the local populations have depended on the reefs for food. In addition, coral reefs support diverse species much like an underwater city.
