The Teen Climate Fest invites young voices to unite in the pursuit of innovative climate solutions. Launched by the Teen Climate Council in 2022, this impactful event showcases the creativity and commitment of teens addressing climate issues today while fostering the next generation of ocean leaders.
Building a Resilient Future Together
In collaboration with the Teen Climate Council, the Aquarium of the Pacific is dedicated to amplifying youth advocacy for climate awareness and ocean health. Teen Climate Fest serves as a vital platform for young volunteers to connect with their community and engage in meaningful discussions about climate resilience. Through hands-on activities and workshops, participants explore how adaptive strategies, such as habitat restoration and sustainable practices, can enhance community resilience in the face of climate change.
Teen Climate Fest Evolutions
The inaugural Teen Climate Fest in 2022 celebrated sustainable career pathways, featuring an evening for teens with a panel of conservation professionals, career exploration opportunities, booths from local organizations, and interactive activities.
In 2023, the festival expanded its reach to take over a full Saturday at the Aquarium, inviting guests of all ages to focus on the fashion industry’s role in changing the climate crisis. By showcasing eco-friendly fashion designers and sustainable businesses, teen volunteers provided attendees with practical strategies for reducing their environmental impact, including clothing reuse and mindful consumption.
For the 3rd Annual Teen Climate Fest, teens transformed the Aquarium for a weekend-long celebration connecting youth and families to critical climate issues through art. With kelp forest stories and artist workshops, teens and families connected to ocean conservation and explored new ideas.
Teen Climate Fest will continue inspiring young leaders to envision and cultivate a resilient future for both communities and ecosystems. Through these events, we strive to provide the tools to advocate for sustainable practices and policies that protect our oceans and planet. Join us for future Teen Climate Fests to explore the intersection of climate resilience and community action with us.
