Marean is a professor at Arizona State University’s Institute of Human Origins and School of Human Evolution and Social Change. He is also the principal investigator for the South African Coast Paleoclimate, Paleoenvironment, Paleoecology, Paleoanthropology (SACP4) project based near Mossel Bay at Pinnacle Point.
